It is through this page that we begin our journey together through the infusion of Nutritional Therapy with Yoga and the Healing Arts (and a touch of magic,) to bring about a deep change not only in your body but also within your soul and life. We are so much more than just our physical body and appearance. We have a depth and light within that needs to be explored and nurtured. So that is why I choose a whole health approach that encourages you to fully encompass all that you are, both the darkness and the light.

Some of the Elements I choose to Work With
The Moon

Just as the moon waxes and wanes, shining its' light in full bloom or hiding in complete darkness, so to do we cycle within ourselves. Our body, emotions, hormones and the world around us is in a continues cycle, an ebb and flow. The moon is a beautiful representation of this and of our own sacred feminine energy that flows through us all. The symbol of this energy is the Triple Goddess that is known as the Maiden, Mother and Crone archetypes. By working with these energies and the nurturing power of the moon, will allow you a deeper connection to the eternal divine feminine that resides within you.

Becoming Your Own Guide
In my experience I have found that diets do not work, they only seem to cause more stress, frustration and shame in which we begin to feel that we are the problem, that something is wrong with us. It's important to know that we are not the problem, there is nothing wrong with us, but there is something very wrong with the system. We put our power into someone else's hands because we thought they knew us better than we did, but its time we take our power back. To release from this system requires getting back in touch with our intuition and the deep trust we hold within us, of our own personal power and our ability to heal.
That is what I wish to help you with. To gently guide you and reconnect you to having a deeper understanding of your own intuition and slowly begin to heal your relationship with yourself. To let you build trust in yourself and make food choices that feel good for you in your body, without judging yourself. Some of the ways in which we can do this are with education on basic and gentle intuitive nutrition, how to recognise your body cues for hunger and more and questioning some of your beliefs surrounding food and your body. And the more we learn to trust our body the more we innately want to nourish and love our body. It's time to take your power back.

I am sure you have already heard about the benefits of incorporating yoga into your daily life. But yoga is more than just the Asana/Pose work. It is deep connection to self, dedication to spirit and study of the soul. I love to bring in the philosophy and deep tradition of yoga into my sessions but also some other healing arts such as Tarot, Reiki and Astrology. Tarot can be a beautiful tool that can bring about unexplored conversations and uncover things that may never have been brought up otherwise (and how beautiful are some of those cards.)
Reiki allows my energy to connect with yours, bringing about deep healing on a soul level and unblocking stagnant energy. Astrology can uncover deep aspects of yourself that you may have once shied away from or locked away deep inside. All of these are just another step on your pathway back to your true home…yourself.

About
Hello all, my name is Lana Mitchell and I am the creator of this little website notably dubbed Holistic Moon. I have always been rather curious about food and its ability to nurture us on many different levels. I love the sense of connectivity it brings between strangers, family, lovers and friends and a oneness with nature. However this connection wasn't always a happy one and like so many others out there, food for a long time became a means of control, an addiction and a great fear. It wasn't until I started my degree in Nutritional Medicine that I slowly began to heal my relationship with food and consequently my relationship with my body and myself. I knew there was more to be done than just heal with food so my interest in Yoga sparked a new light within me, one that began to uncover the messy and interwoven beliefs that I had held close to my heart. These beliefs I began to see heavily controlled my life and I had to question them in order to finally release them allowing new ones to slowly arise. It has and will be a continual process of uncovering and rediscovering myself, and one I know will be a journey throughout the rest of my life, for my internal curiosity will always keep me learning and the path to healing is not a linear one. I hope to bring some gentle comfort to those who wish to piece back the parts of themselves that they unconsciously or consciously drove deep down within themselves because they too were given beliefs that held power over who they truly were. That is why I decided that I wanted to bring forth my story through this website to connect with all of you who just need someone to listen and understand for a moment in time. So that you too can slowly untangle the vines that hold you in place that stopped you from being who you truly wanted to be. Whenever you wish to get curious and you find yourself wanting to talk about what joys food can truly bring or you find the need to have a deep philosophy chat about yoga, even perhaps some witchy wisdom and magical talk, or simply the joy of a cup of tea with another, I will be here.
